Identity: Purpose: Joy

Identity-Purpose-Joy was written by request by my late, great friend Thomas Stanley. We were upstairs at the Kansas Leadership Center sitting area riffing about work, our calling, and our identities as men when Thomas leaned over to me and said, “You know what you need to do?...” I answered, “No, Thomas what do I need to do?” Full of enthusiasm he said, “You need to write that down!!... I think it would help a lot of people.”

The "that" he was referring to was me unpacking the journey I had been on in discovering that my identity was not in the things I did, but rather in: (1) the love that I was created in; (2) in doing things well for ‘love’s sake’; and lastly (3) the extreme joy I was experiencing as a result.

So, Thomas, “I wrote it down” and now I’m sharing it with all of you. I hope you will take the time to walk through it thoughtfully. Reach out if you would like guidance on how to use Identity-Purpose-Joy through your journey.
