Culture is not at war

War is within us

Each and every one

Teetering on worship

Vows of control

Laced with demands

Of the contract

Written on brownish white parchment

The quill dripping dark ink

Like jazz

Swirling and looping, longing and leaping

To tell a tale

Of the transcendent and tormenting truth

We cannot live out that which we imagine

We cannot hold the note

We are hypocrites
